Resident Services

The Yazoo City Housing Authority (YCHA) supports a strong and active relationship between residents and staff. The YCHA is committed to working with residents, community groups, business partners, refugees, resettlement organizations and stakeholders to ensure that quality services and programs are offered to all populations served by our authority. All programs and activities developed by the YCHA focus on economic growth opportunities for all residents.

Resident services and job training programs are designed to assist families in becoming economically independent and self-sufficient.

Among the services offered:

Employment Services:

  • Pre-employment skills assessment testing
  • Job training referral
  • Career counseling

Educational Services:

  • Referrals to GED and Adult Literacy classes
  • Computer training classes
  • Referrals to other training opportunities

Other Services:

  • Self-Enhancement Seminars (held monthly)
