Youth Initiatives

The Yazoo City Housing Authority (YCHA) dedicates staff and resources to promote youth achievement and provide programs and activities that keep youth engaged, informed and motivated to achieve positive things.

The YCHA recognizes those students that exemplify excellence in school, community service, athletics, art and public speaking. The youth are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in and out of school activities.

Youth Achievement Awards are presented on an annual basis to youth within the community who actively participate in YCHA programs and events. The YCHA hosts an awards program that highlights the success and accomplishment of youth between the ages of five through 21 years. Parents, family, friends, community stakeholders and school representatives are cordially invited to celebrate these youth’s achievements.
